CAN THO – The government of Can Tho City will hold a ceremony to introduce the phase-one Vinh Thanh Industrial Park, also known as VSIP Can Tho, to the public on September 9.
The event is intended to call for investment in VSIP Can Tho and other city industrial parks in the Mekong Delta city.
About 200 guests from Can Tho City and 100 from the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited are expected to attend.
During the ceremony, local authorities will present investment memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between VSIP and potential clients, as well as an MOU outlining the industrial zone’s expansion plan between Can Tho and VSIP.
According to Duong Tan Hien, vice chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee, this event coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between Vietnam and countries including Singapore.
Previously, the local authority granted investment registration certificates to investors in October 2022.
The project’s investors include Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDG Corp), Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited (VSIP Group), and Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park And Township Development Joint Stock Company (VSIP JSC).
VSIP Can Tho covers a total of 900 hectares, with 293.7 hectares in phase one. The total investment capital is VND3,718 billion, equivalent to US$160 million.
The industrial park serves as a catalyst for socio-economic growth in Can Tho and the Long Xuyen Quadrilateral region, while also driving industrial and commercial services expansion in Can Tho.
