HCMC – An exhibition highlighting the nation’s achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2), themed “An 80-Year Journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” opened at the Vietnam Exposition Center in Hanoi City today, August 28.
The event is the largest exhibition ever organized, with the opening ceremony attended by Party General Secretary To Lam, former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, among other current and former leaders.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that under Party General Secretary To Lam’s leadership and with unified efforts from the Government, ministries, Hanoi authorities, and strong public support, the Vietnam Exposition Center was completed ahead of schedule. The facility now is one of the world’s top 10 national and international exhibition centers.

The exhibition “An 80-Year Journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness” is a remarkable highlight, not only honoring the nation’s glorious historical path but also spreading patriotism, national pride, and the aspiration to rise, affirming Vietnam’s strength and position on the path of reform, integration, and sustainable development.
The exhibition features the participation of 28 ministries and central agencies, 34 localities, and more than 110 major enterprises and economic groups, with over 230 booths.
At the Ministry of National Defense’s booth, many visitors eagerly lined up to experience virtual reality driving, crossing the Truong Son trail to transport supplies to the south of the nation.
The Ministry of Finance’s booth showcases thousands of documents, photos, and artifacts reflecting the sector’s journey from the early days of nation-building and wartime resistance to today’s era of reform and integration.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Construction presents the industry’s achievements in two themed sections, “Shaping Development” and “Aspiration for the Sky.” Highlights include models, mock-ups, and 3D designs of green buildings, clean energy projects, and high-tech applications.
The national achievements exhibition takes place from August 28 to September 5. The displays feature:
- Outstanding achievements of the nation over 80 years of construction and development across various fields, especially in key sectors such as industry and technology; investment and trade; agriculture and rural development; security and defense; foreign affairs; healthcare, education; culture, sports, and tourism.
- Vietnamese culture – the country – the people, with a 4,000-year cultural tradition; the rich cultural diversity of 54 ethnic groups; the abundance of resources and specialties from the three regions; and prominent architectural works of the past and present nationwide.
- Green industries and Vietnam’s journey of green transition and digital transformation.
- Vietnam’s aviation and aerospace industry.
- Vietnam’s security and defense industry.
- A dedicated space for 12 cultural industries of Vietnam.
