HCMC – Rail passenger services between Hanoi and Lao Cai have been suspended due to disruptions caused by heavy rainfall in the northern upland province of Yen Bai.

The suspension affects two pairs of trains, SP3 and SP4, on the Hanoi-Lao Cai route. The circulation of Typhoon Yagi has caused heavy rainfall and severe flooding in the province.

The resumption of these trains will be contingent upon improving weather conditions.

The rising water levels in the Thao River have submerged several roads in the province’s Yen Bai City, causing significant traffic disruptions, according to a local news report.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Railways Corporation has completed repairs on the North-South railway sections affected by the storm and has resumed normal train services through Hanoi.
