HCMC – Urban Railway Company Limited No.1 HCMC has announced that the first seven trains will begin commercial service on July 1 on Metro Line No. 1, which connects Ben Thanh Market and Suoi Tien Theme Park.
During the initial phase of their service from July 1 to September 30, the seven trains will have three cars each, and operate from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a 10-minute interval.
In the next phase from October 1 to December 31, the number of trains will increase to 12, with operating hours extended to 10:30 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, nine trains will be used for this urban rail line.
In the third phase from January 1, 2025 onwards, Metro Line No. 1 will run at full capacity. On weekdays there will be 15 trains operating with an interval of four and a half minutes during peak hours and operating hours will be extended from 5 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. On weekends and public holidays, nine trains will run from 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. with an eight-minute interval between trips.
