HCMC – The Ao Dai and Food Day under the theme “Charms of Hue” has been organized in the Imperial City of Hue on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8).

This event was organized by the Vietnam Women’s Union to lay the foundation to recognize Ao Dai Hue and Hue Cuisine as intangible cultural heritage of the nation.

Moreover, it is paving the way for Vietnam to seek UNESCO recognition of Ao Dai Hue and Hue Cuisine as a world cultural heritage.

The Ao Dai and Food Festival under the theme “Charms of Hue” attracts massive attention from local people and travelers
Visitors get to see 1,000 sets of traditional ao dai, which will be distributed to union members, women and students in need in the province
Men and women are seen in traditional ao dai at the festival
The festival also allows Hue women to show off their cooking skills
Culinary artist Phan Ton Gia Hien speaks about the diversity and uniqueness of Hue cuisine and makes some special dishes on site
Ao Dai Hue has become more sophisticated and attractive, but still retains the traditional quintessence of the traditional costume of the past
According to the organizers, the festival lays the foundation for Thua Thien Hue to gradually build an impressive image of Hue as the capital of Vietnamese ao dai and cuisine, as well as promote tourism activities along with socio-economic development in a sustainable way
