HCMC – The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has attracted over 10,600 international cruise passengers so far this year, reported the Government news site (baochinhphu.vn).
On February 14, two cruise ships, Norwegian Spirit and Seven Seas Explorer, arrived at Cam Ranh International Port, with 2,600 passengers onboard. Since January, six international cruise ships have arrived in the province, with nine more scheduled through April, expected to bring an additional 14,650 visitors.
Khanh Hoa’s broader tourism sector is experiencing strong growth. The province recorded over one million overnight visitors in January, a 67.1% year-on-year increase. International arrivals rose by 27.9% to 519,000, while domestic visitors surged by 146% to 495,000.
Tourism revenue in January reached nearly VND5.6 trillion, up by 82% compared to the same period last year. The Lunar New Year holiday alone contributed 285,000 overnight visitors, generating more than VND1.35 trillion in revenue.
The provincial tourism department attributed this growth to improved infrastructure and the launch of new international flight routes from South Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Poland.
For 2025, Khanh Hoa aims to attract 11.8 million overnight visitors, including 5.2 million international travelers. The province is focusing on key markets such as South Korea, China, Russia, and Kazakhstan, while also targeting India, Japan, and Australia. Authorities expect tourism revenue to hit VND60 trillion this year.
