HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on the Airports Corporation of Vietnam and relevant agencies to accelerate construction of Long Thanh International Airport’s phase one, emphasizing strict quality control and efficient execution to ensure basic completion by December 19.
At the 17th meeting of the steering committee for key transport projects, the Government leader emphasized that the schedule must remain unchanged, with no misconduct, cost overruns, or delays allowed.
The key tasks include completing 3,000 kilometers of expressway, substantially finishing Long Thanh International Airport, and breaking ground on the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Haiphong railway at five locations on December 19.
He called for the mobilization of maximum resources, modern equipment, and advanced technology to complete key expressway projects by December 19, including the An Huu-Cao Lanh Expressway, HCMC Beltway No.3, Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang Expressway, and Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway.
Public-private partnership (PPP) projects must complete all required procedures to break ground by May 2025, with investors expected to fully mobilize resources to accelerate implementation.
The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with reviewing and proposing amendments to the Law on Public-Private Partnership Investment and Investment Law to simplify procedures, attract off-budget funding, and enhance investor appeal.
The prime minister has also assigned the State Bank of Vietnam to promptly implement measures to mobilize VND500 trillion for strategic infrastructure, science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation projects.
Along with completing the Long Thanh International Airport’s phase one, ACV and local authorities have been asked to complete expansion projects for Noi Bai Terminal 2, Ca Mau Airport, Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh, and Dong Hoi Terminal 2.
PM Chinh also instructed the provinces of Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, and Lang Son to strictly follow directives and complete site clearance for projects slated for completion in 2025 within May.
The provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, and Kien Giang have been asked to accelerate site clearance for rest areas along the eastern North-South Expressway and complete the process no later than May 20.
