HCMC – Vietnam has approved an additional VND1 trillion for the My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway project to build an interchange and a 10-kilometer service road, the local media reported.
This brings the total investment for the project to over VND5.8 trillion, up from the VND4.8 trillion initially approved in 2020. The project, funded by the central Government, is scheduled for completion by 2025.
The additional funding will be used to construct an interchange that connects the expressway to Vo Van Kiet Street in Vinh Long Province, as well as nearly 10 kilometers of service roads running through Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces.
Further upgrades include completing the expressway’s intelligent transportation system (ITS) and traffic management center. Investments will also support the implementation of electronic toll collection and other operational infrastructure.
The Ministry of Transport will oversee the project and ensure the mobilization of legal capital sources for the remaining work.
