HCMC – The HCMC Department of Industry and Trade has urged supermarkets and traders to strictly comply with the prices registered under the city’s market stabilization program.
The department, in a dispatch sent to the HCMC People’s Committee, asked supermarkets and enterprises to review and revise down their prices as fuel prices have been adjusted down recently.
Specifically, enterprises participating in the market stabilization program need to proactively prepare various sources of food that meet food safety, quality and quantity at reasonable prices.
Key goods suppliers need to accelerate the supply of goods with stabilized prices to prevent unreasonable price increases.
Moreover, distribution systems are asked to project market supply and demand, and closely coordinate with suppliers to stabilize the market.
Wholesale markets need to strengthen the supervision of the flow of goods and ensure compliance with regulations on prices.
Earlier on August 4, the HCMC Department of Finance sent an official dispatch to businesses participating in the program to stabilize prices of food and essential goods. Accordingly, relevant agencies in Thu Duc City alongside 21 districts will keep a close watch on prices at markets, supermarkets, trade centers, and convenience stores.
Meanwhile, traders must promptly send a price registration document to the department.
