HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Long An has allowed the resumption of almost all services and socio-economic activities starting today, October 27, except for in-person classes.

Under the decision signed by the provincial government on October 26, there are no limits on the number of participants for indoor or outdoor events and activities, provided they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, have recovered from the disease in the last six months or have a negative Covid test result valid for 72 hours.

The province allowed gyms, yoga studios, hair salons, beauty salons and billiards to restart operations, but they should operate at no more than 70% capacity, while their employees must meet one of the three requirements mentioned above.

Other non-essential services such as karaoke and massage parlors, bars, clubs and internet and game shops were allowed to resume operations, but should operate at 50% capacity and follow anti-pandemic measures.

Besides, the inter-provincial and intra-provincial transport of vehicles, railways and waterways were also allowed to resume.

The province also allowed commercial centers, supermarkets, groceries, wholesales markets, traditional markets, lodging facilities, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and tourist sites to operate as normal. The owners of these facilities must regularly conduct Covid tests for their employees.

Religious sites and places of worship were reopened, but must ensure that participants or visitors meet one of the three requirements.

As for education, students in Long An Province will continue to attend online classes until November. The province will consider allowing students to return to in-person classes after completing their vaccination.

On October 25, the Long An government announced that the province was at low risk of coronavirus transmission, the local media reported.
