Two more imported cases of Covid-19 reported

HCMC – The Health Ministry has just confirmed two fresh Covid-19 patients, who were quarantined after entering Vietnam, sending the country’s total infections to 1,126 as of Saturday evening, October 17.

Of the new patients, a 30-year-old Indian expert was quarantined in HCMC after he arrived in the country from India through HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat airport on Flight 6E9471 on October 6. The expert is under quarantine and treatment at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Earlier, 16 passengers boarding the flight were confirmed as positive for the novel coronavirus. They were also taken to quarantine facilities in HCMC, Dong Thap and Dong Nai provinces upon arrival.

The other case is a local resident in the northern province of Thai Binh. The 37-year-old man returned home from Myanmar on October 15 on Flight VJ2735 which landed at Cam Ranh airport. He is being treated at Cam Lam District Medical Center in Khanh Hoa.

To date, 1,031 of the nation’s infections have made a full recovery while 35 others have died of the respiratory disease.
