HCMC – Parts of Can Tho City might be inundated due to high flood tides this weekend, with water levels projected to rise to the high tide levels observed about a month ago.
Current water levels at Can Tho station have already reached 1.93 meters and are expected to rise further in the following days, according to the Can Tho Center of Hydro-Meteorology Forecasting.
The tidal peak is projected to take place between October 29 and 31, with water levels rising to 2.1-2.15 meters, exceeding warning level 3 as the most critical level.
During the period of high tides, heavy rains may occur, potentially causing flooding in low-lying and inner-city areas along the river banks.
