HCMC – The Carnaval Halong 2024, an art performance festival, is set to take place on April 28 in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
This festival is a key component of Quang Ninh’s plan to draw in at least 17 million tourists, including three million international visitors in 2024.
Highlights of the event include art light projection, using 1,600 to 2,300 drones, coupled with 3D mapping technology to depict iconic symbols of Quang Ninh and live performances by 1,200 actors.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Son, vice chairman of the Halong City People’s Committee, this year’s event will include art performances and parades both at sea and along Halong’s shores, marking a first in Vietnam.
The festivities will culminate in a fireworks display, tourist boat parades, and canoe performances.
Son said that the festival serves as a platform to further promote Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site for the past three decades.
