HCMC – Vo Ngoc Hiep, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province, has been assigned to take charge of the provincial government following the arrest of Chairman Tran Van Hiep.
The Lam Dong Party Committee’s Standing Board decided on January 1 to assign Vo Ngoc Hiep to oversee the day-to-day operations of the province’s People’s Committee and its Party Civil Affairs Committee.
Tran Van Hiep, 58, who assumed the post of chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee in November 2020, was detained on January 2 this year on alleged charges of taking bribes.
